The keynote speech will be given by Martin Ruby, Public Policy Director at Meta (formerly employed by Google and Christiansborg), who will provide insight into how Meta navigates a constantly changing political landscape.
The keynote will be followed by a panel discussion with SHAPE-affiliated researchers in media studies who have published empirical research on Meta's platforms:
- Anton Elias Holt: AI and misinformation
- Stine Liv Johansen: Children and young people
- Jakob Linaa Jensen: Politics and political debate
- Anja Bechmann: Collective behavior (moderator)
The event will provide an opportunity to discuss the intersection of tech giants and research – and how the logic of social media can become a political issue.
