Michael comes from a position as senior lecturer at University College Absalon where he has been researching various digital aspects of social work, from communicating with children and youth through different kinds of social media platforms to how the increasing use of algorithm in decision support systems in employment services transforms social worker practices.

Michael has joined SHAPE in the project on digital aspects of social work, which is part of the larger project on 'Digital Citizenship', with Peter Lauritsen and Peter Danholt. The project aims at developing deeper and more nuanced understandings on how data-work is carried out, comprehended, contextualised and constructed on various institutional levels in the child welfare system. Further, it is the aim of the project to create knowledge regarding how this data-work constitutes changes for street level social worker practices.
